Recognized as one of the fastest growing companies in Tampa Bay eight years in a row and on the Inc. 5000 list of top privately held companies in the country for the last six years, DAS Health is seeking a full time Medical Biller.
The Medical Biller is responsible for working directly with insurance companies and healthcare providers to get claims processed and paid.
Specific job duties include:
Reviewing and appealing unpaid and denied claims
Task provider staff when additional information is required for appeals
Post appropriate adjustments based on client protocols and/or Explanation of Benefits (EOB)
Know how to read and understand an EOB
Keep current on informational changes in billing procedures
Understand and process day end and or month end functions, if assigned
Communicate/answer questions regarding outstanding AR issues
Meet benchmarks for AR claim volume
Maintain best-practices A/R standards
Work in compliance with HIPAA standards
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
3-5 years medical billing experience
Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10/CPT/HCPCS coding and CCI edits
Familiar with insurance companies' processes and nuances regarding claim adjudication
Excellent communication skills
Must have the ability to exercise a high degree of diplomacy and tact; excellent customer services skills
Strong attention to detail
Must be a self-starter, motivated and have the ability to multi-task
Strong technical skills
Good time management skills
Ability to work independently
